Professional Review

Far Cry Primal is a 1st person shooter game by Ubisoft Montreal. It’s a spin-off chapter of the Far Cry series that brings you to the Mesolithic Age. Typical machine guns and rifles are replaced with handmade bows and stone-tip spears. You can download Far Cry Primal for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Graphics: 5

Far Cry Primal game is based on the same engine as Far Cry 4 with slight upgrades. Typically for the series, Primal is ultra-detailed. All objects are made with precise proportions and covered with vibrant, high-resolution textures. Dunia Engine also presents pretty realistic physics of characters, animals, weapons, and the environment.

Gameplay: 4.5

Similarly to other chapters of the franchise, Far Cry Primal gameplay consists of exploration and combat. The open world environment provides you with the full freedom of movement. You can take part in various random encounters, such as scrambles with hostile tribes, and hunting. The combat system is different from other chapters. You cannot use any modern guns or their stylized copies. Moreover, you can’t buy anything as there was no money in 10,000 BC. It means that you have to search for materials and craft everything yourself.

Another unique gameplay feature is taming. You can set baits to lure predators and tame them. After that, they will be always available for summoning and provide you with an advantage during fights. The wildlife in the game is very realistic and requires you to be cautious anywhere you go. Mammoths, saber-tooth tigers, badgers, elks, cave lions, bears and rhinos match their scientific images.

Controls: 5

Controls testing for this Far Cry Primal review included hour-long playing with a keyboard, and gamepads. Both PS4 and Xbox One inputs are felt nearly the same. Surprisingly, the shooting system balance of gamepad and keyboard-plus-mouse layouts is similarly well-done. There’s not much difference between aiming with a mouse and the controller sticks.

Replay Value: 5

Far Cry Primal full game story with side quests may take about 12 hours, which is quite long. It’s worth at least a single walkthrough due to the beautiful realistic environments with unique crafting and survival features. After the first walkthrough, you can try to pass the game in Survival mode with an increased difficulty level.

Conclusion

Far Cry Primal 1st person shooter is an excellent spin-off in the FC series. It allows you to experience the brand new gameplay. There is nothing about the madness of fictional foes. Only realism. Only hardcore. Install Far Cry Primal and try to fight your instincts, hostile tribes, hunger, and bloodthirsty predators.

Conclusion

Download Far Cry Primal and dive into the cruel prehistoric world that is full of extreme dangers.

Pros : Highly realistic setting and gameplay;
High quality of textures, shading, lighting, and physics;
