Tom Clancy’s The Division is an epic online role-playing game and shooter by Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment. You play a special agent of the Strategic Homeland Division who has to fight criminals and investigate the situation in the mid-crisis Manhattan from the inside. You can download Tom Clancy’s The Division for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
Tom Clancy’s The Division game is powered by the proprietary Snowdrop Engine that was created especially for this franchise. This advanced technology allows volumetric lighting of the entire world with a realistic day/night cycle. Physical core renders procedural destruction with hundreds of realistic particles and dynamic shader of materials. Though the game is nearly 4 years old, it still looks impressive.
The game is set in the open-world interpretation of Manhattan where you can explore everything freely. The city is struck by a severe virus, and you’re commanded to find its source and follow the progression to help the government to come up with a solution. The city became a dangerous place because of armored looters, who rob abandoned dwellings and weak citizens who come on their way.
You can carry up to 3 weapons and explosives, such as mines and grenades. Your items can become worn out, so you have to search and purchase materials for repairing and crafting of additional gear.
The city has special Dark Zones, which are designed for PvP battles. These locations are set apart from the city and filled with powerful weapons left by retreated military units. You can get help from your friends if you play in co-op or invite player-controlled agents. They are free to play against you if you lose. Try to survive to get ranks and avoid losing them. In general, Tom Clancy’s The Division gameplay is rich and diverse.
During this Tom Clancy’s The Division review, we played on PS4 and PC to compare gamepad and keyboard-plus-mouse set-ups. Both options are convenient enough, but you may need to lower stick (mouse) sensitivity to make aiming more precise.
Replay Value: 4.5
To complete Tom Clancy’s The Division full game, you need around 9 hours. It’s exciting to play solo, but it gets much more immersive when you invite a friend to enjoy the co-op mode. It reveals multiple new tactical opportunities for defeating enemies.
The Bottom Line
Tom Clancy’s The Division is a worth-playing open-world RPG with an intense combat slant. It has an exciting plot and astonishing quality of visuals. This franchise is a unique combination of a multiplayer open-world RPG and tactical TPS with excellent plot interruptions.
Download Tom Clancy’s The Division and experience one of the biggest action RPGs on the market.
